Starting location: Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Tizi Mzik Pass – Azzadene Valley – Azib Tamsoult

Your Mount Toubkal Trip begins with morning pick-up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. Pick Morocco Trip will arrange private transport to Imlil, the main starting point for many High Atlas trekking routes. After meeting your guide and muleteer, the trek begins with a climb out of the Imlil Valley.

The trail takes you toward the Tizi Mzik Pass at around 2,489 meters, where you can enjoy beautiful views over the surrounding mountains and valleys. After the pass, the route descends into the Azzadene Valley, often known for its colorful landscapes and peaceful mountain scenery.

During this first day of the Trip, you will pass traditional mountain villages and continue toward Azib Tamsoult. You may also pass near the D’Irhoulidene waterfalls, depending on the exact route and conditions. Dinner and overnight will be in a guest house, refuge, or mountain accommodation.

Walking time: Around 5 hours
Meals: Lunch and dinner
Accommodation: Guest house or refuge

Day 2: Azib Tamsoult – Aguelzim Pass – Toubkal Refuge

After breakfast, the second day of the Trip continues with a steady climb out of the Azzadene Valley. This part of the trek is more demanding, but it offers some of the best mountain views of the route.

You will climb toward the Aguelzim Pass at around 3,560 meters, where the landscape becomes more dramatic and open. Lunch will be served in a scenic location with views across the Atlas Mountains. After a rest, the trail descends toward the Toubkal Refuge area at around 3,207 meters.

This night is an important part of the Trip, as you will rest near the base of Mount Toubkal before the summit attempt the next morning. In summer or good weather conditions, camping near the refuge may be possible depending on the organization and availability.

Walking time: Around 6 to 7 hours
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Accommodation: Mountain refuge or camp

Day 3: Toubkal Refuge – Mount Toubkal Summit – Imlil – Marrakech

The final day of your Mount Toubkal Trip starts early in the morning. After breakfast, you begin the ascent to the summit of Mount Toubkal at 4,167 meters. This is the most challenging part of the Trip, but it is also the most rewarding.

The climb requires steady effort, especially because of the altitude and rocky mountain terrain. Once you reach the summit, you will have time to enjoy the views over the High Atlas Mountains. On clear days, the scenery can stretch toward the Haouz plains and the southern landscapes of Morocco.

After enjoying the summit, you will descend back to the Toubkal Refuge for a short rest before continuing down toward Imlil. The route may pass near Sidi Chamharouch, a well-known stop on the traditional Toubkal trail. Once you arrive in Imlil, your driver will take you back to Marrakech.

Your 3-day Mount Toubkal Trip with Pick Morocco Trip ends with drop-off at your hotel or riad in Marrakech in the early evening.

Walking time: Around 8 hours
Meals: Breakfast and lunch
Accommodation: Not included on the final night
Return: Marrakech in the early evening
